Since 2001, the architecture committee of the SVHS have given local property owners awards of distinction for historically sensitive exterior renovations and landscapes. ro.

Previous Year Awardees

2025

14 Beaver Street

Over the course of 4.5 years, the owners have been methodically designing and building their home at 14 Beaver Street.  From the home’s setback and sighting to its copper spouts, terra cotta relief, stone lintels and slate roof, this home pays tribute to design and craftsmanship ideals utilized in Sewickley Valley’s grand homes built 100+ years earlier.

2024

201 Scaife Road – the BarN

The Historic 19th century barn located at 201 Scaife Road (corner of Merriman Rd) is an iconic example of regional bank barn design with a unique and subtle overlay of classical detailing.  

2023

651 Maple Lane – Daffodil Meadow

This home is an excellent example of later 19th century vernacular architecture, highlighting the commitment to retaining the historic integrity such as the polychrome paint scheme, porch column brackets and custom porch railing in balance with sensitive updates such as the carriage house and exposed aggregate driveway with custom stamp make it worthy of recognition.  In addition, this area of Sewickley abounds with historically significant architecture which is often overlooked.
